{"id":9,"date":"2017-12-04T23:56:19","date_gmt":"2017-12-04T22:56:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/quest-lab.unime.it\/magnet\/?page_id=9"},"modified":"2026-05-29T12:18:23","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T11:18:23","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/quest-lab.unime.it\/magnet\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MAGNET is a C&nbsp; library for the analysis of <strong>M<\/strong>arkovian <strong>AG<\/strong>ent <strong>NET<\/strong>works models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its development started as a standalone, single-threaded program for Linux systems as a student project for the Master Degree in Engineering and Computer Science.<br>The software project is developed under the supervision of <a href=\"mailto:mscarpa@unime.it\">Marco Scarpa<\/a> and it has been then improved, made it concurrent and developed as a library with a compact and easy to use API, by <a href=\"mailto:giuseppe.molica@outlook.it\">Giuseppe Molica<\/a> at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unime.it\/it\/dipartimenti\/ingegneria\">Department of Engineering<\/a> &#8211; University of Messina. It currently runs on Linux systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MAGNET is highly scalable, with the number of threads concurrently executing that can be statically specified or dynamically &#8220;generated&#8221; depending on the number of agents and CPU cores. In particular, it&#8217;s possible to have at most one thread per agent. This implies a full control of the users on the multi-threaded analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first release of MAGNET (ver 0.9.9) has been presented at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/valuetools.eai-conferences.org\/2017\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">11th EAI International Conference on Performance Evaluation Methodologies and Tools<\/a><\/strong> (Valuetools 2017).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MAGNET is available from the <a href=\"http:\/\/quest-lab.unime.it\/magnet\/?page_id=82\">Download<\/a> section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A guide about the API is available on the <a href=\"http:\/\/quest-lab.unime.it\/magnet\/?page_id=170\">Documentation<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MAGNET is a C&nbsp; library for the analysis of Markovian AGent NETworks models.
